Waiting on Wednesday (8)

'Wating on Wednesday' is hosted at Breaking the Spine.

It is a weekley meme where you get to rant about the books that are soon to be published; what could be better!?

This week the book I'm waiting on is...

How do you defy destiny?

Helen Hamilton has spent her entire sixteen years trying to hide how different she is—no easy task on an island as small and sheltered as Nantucket. And it's getting harder. Nightmares of a desperate desert journey have Helen waking parched, only to find her sheets damaged by dirt and dust. At school she's haunted by hallucinations of three women weeping tears of blood . . . and when Helen first crosses paths with Lucas Delos, she has no way of knowing they're destined to play the leading roles in a tragedy the Fates insist on repeating throughout history.

As Helen unlocks the secrets of her ancestry, she realizes that some myths are more than just legend. But even demigod powers might not be enough to defy the forces that are both drawing her and Lucas together—and trying to tear them apart.

Demigods. OHMYGOD. I love demigods, and there arn't that many Y.A books out there which contain them.
I am so so so excited for this one it sounds so cool and exciting and action packed, and.. and... just amazingness.

It's been three years since the devastating accident ... three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.

Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Julliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future - and each other.

Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.

I just recieved 'If I Stay in the post today, so be expecting a review soon!

I was drawn towards this book after reading 'Before I Fall' I don't know what it is with books about death... I love them!

This has such a pretty cover! I can't wait to devour 'If I Stay' and then move onto the sequel.

Another town. Another school. Another Mclean. Ever since her parents' bitter divorce, Mclean and her father have been fleeing their unhappy past. And Mclean's become a pro at reinventing herself with each move. But in Lakeview, Mclean finds herself putting down roots and making friends—in part, thanks to Dave, the most real person Mclean's ever met. Dave just may be falling in love with her, but can he see the person she really is? Does Mclean herself know?

I have never read a Sarah Dessen book before. I know, I know. *gasp*
But, I thought it was really neat that she was releasing a new book, and the synopsis looks great!

I'm really interested in checking this one out!
Could you guys help me out? I really want to start reading her books, which one should I start with?

Waiting on Wednesday (5)

'Wating on Wednesday' is hosted at Breaking the Spine.

Phew... It's, been a while. However, I am glad to say that things are up and going as usual again!

This week the book I'm waiting on is...

Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love - the deliria - blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the governments demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.

But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.
I think that this one sounds very interesting. I loved Lauren Olivers 'Before I fall' I thought it was beautifully written, so I do have high hopes for this one so *fingers crossed!*
I'm not yet sure as to whether I like the cover... the blues pretty.

What are you waiting for?

For as highest calling a mermaid can have. Then Dosinia runs away to the mainland, and Esmerine is sent to retrieve her. Using magic to transform her tail into legs, she makes her way unsteadily to the capital city. There she comes upon a friend she hasn't seen since childhood--a dashing young man named Alandare, who belongs to a winged race of people. As Esmerine and Alandare band together to search for Dosinia, they rekindle a friendship . . . and ignite the emotions for a love so great it cannot be bound by sea, land, or air.

This book is about Mermaids, and I think mermiads may soon become one of my favorite fictional charecters...Hmm.
I love any books with mermaids in and this one has romance too!
It kind of sounds like 'The Little Mermaid' don't you think?!
Anyway, it looks awesome and I can't wait till' this one comes out.

Possession - Elana Johnson

Vi knows the Rule: Girls don't walk with boys, and they never even think about kissing them. But no one makes Vi want to break the Rules more than Zenn...and since the Thinkers have chosen him as Vi's future match, how much trouble can one kiss cause? The Thinkers may have brainwashed the rest of the population, but Vi is determined to think for herself.

But the Thinkers are unusually persuasive, and they're set on convincing Vi to become one of them...starting by brainwashing Zenn. Vi can't leave Zenn in the Thinkers' hands, but she's wary of joining the rebellion, especially since that means teaming up with Jag. Jag is egotistical, charismatic, and dangerous--everything Zenn's not. Vi can't quite trust Jag and can't quite resist him, but she also can't give up on Zenn.

This is a game of control or be controlled. And Vi has no choice but to play.

This sounds like a amazing Y.A dystopian novel, it also sounds very unique too!
Wow, I'm going to have to get my hands on this, no matter what!
And, look at that cover, so simple, so effective.

This week the book I'm waiting on is...

Fins are Forever- Tera Lynn Childs

On Lily Sanderson’s eighteenth birthday she’ll become just a girl—still a mer girl, true, but signing the renunciation paperwork will ink Princess Waterlily of Thalassinia out of existence. That leaves plain old Lily living on land, dating the boy she loves, and trying to master this being human thing once and for all.

Now that Lily and Quince are together, mer-bond or not, she’s almost content to give up her place in the royal succession of Thalassinia. But just when she thinks she has everything figured out, Lily’s father sends a certain whirlpool-stirring cousin to stay with her on land. What did Doe do to get herself exiled from Thalassinia and stuck in terraped form, when everyone knows how much she hates humans? And why why why is she batting her eyelashes at Lily’s former crush, Brody?

The seafoam on the surf comes when a merboy from Lily’s past shows up. Tellin asks Lily for something that clouds her view of the horizon. There’s a future with Quince on land, her loyalty to the kingdom in the sea, and Lily tossing on the waves in the middle. Will she find a way to reconcile her love, her duty, and her dreams?

Eeeek! I'm so excited for this one, although admitedly, I still havn't got round to reading the first one as I don't own it. *Sniffs* I'm hoping i'll get it for christmas though!
WOW. Just look at the cover! Both covers are just gorgeous, and the blurb sounds so interesting!

I adore books about mermaids, like the Ingo series. I cannot wait to devour this series!

Waiting on Wednesday (1)

Another new meme! I'm on a roll! Ok so 'Waiting on Wednesday' is hosted at Breaking the Spine.

It is a weekley meme where you get to rant about the books that are soon to be published; what could be better!?

This week the book I'm waiting on is...

Chain Reaction - Simone Elkeles

Luis Fuentes is a good boy who doesn't live with the angst that his big brothers, Alex and Carlos, have always lived with. Luis is smart, funny, and has big dreams of becoming an astronaut. But when he falls for the wrong girl, Luis enters a dark world he's never known, and just when he thinks he's got life all figured out, learns some disturbing news about his family that destroys his positive outlook on life. Will that Fuentes bad boy streak come out with a vengeance and lure Luis to live on the edge like his new girlfriend and his own father?

Ekkk! I'm so excited! I read perfect chemistry a while back when I was on holiday, and my parents had to literally rip me away! I loved it so much as you may be able to tell from my glowing Perfect Chemistry Review.
I actually haven't read the second one yet, however I am definitely going to order it soon, depending what I get for christmas. ;)
The cover for Chain reaction isn't my favorite though. *Sniffs* I fell in love with the first one, as it really showed passion between the two. The second cover for Rules of Attraction was also amazing, But I'm just not feeling the love for this one. Ohwell, I know Simones excellent writing will make up for all of that!

I wannttt!
