Angus thongs and Full-frontal Snogging - Louise Rennison

Paperback: 247 pages

Publisher: HarperTeen; 1ST edition (April 10, 2001)

She has a precocious 3-year-old sister who tends to leave wet nappies at the foot of her bed, an insane cat who is prone to leg-shredding "Call of the Wild" episodes, and embarrassing parents who make her want to escape to Stonehenge and dance with the Druids. No wonder 14-year-old Georgia Nicolson laments, "Honestly, what is the point?" A Bridget Jones for the younger set, Georgia records the momentous events of her life--and they are all momentous--in her diary, which serves as a truly hilarious account of what it means to be a modern girl on the cusp of womanhood. No matter that her particular story takes place in England, the account of her experiences rings true across the ocean (and besides, "Georgia's Glossary" swiftly eradicates any language barriers).

H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S! This book is super funny which will put a smile even to the most glum faces.

I loved reading about Georgia's 'misfortunes' and her bonkers imagination!

Basically, this book is about Georgia trying to attract the 'sex god' a.k.a Robbie. Her best friend Jazz however, ends up going out with Robbie's brother which opens up many opportunities for Georgia, but with Georgia, nothing is quite so simple!

I finished this book really quickly, as it was just so funny, as well as the fact that it is all written in diary form.
This style of writing was refreshing as it wasn't uptight and professional, which is probably why I enjoyed to read it so. Louise Rennison really just let loose on this novel and captured a teenagers perspective of life perfectly!

The reason I only give it 4 stars is because it didn't have a huge plot line however to be fair I don't think it is actually supposed to have one. Instead it was just this fun, crazy read, which made my sides ache from laughter!

If you are looking for a cheerful, light and funny read then this one is definitely for you!
